Tablet Screen Replacement Cost in Malaysia (2026)

Cost Guide

Last updated:

Tablet screen replacement in Malaysia costs between RM 200 and RM 1,200, depending on brand, screen size, and whether the display is laminated. A budget Android tablet sits at the low end; a large Samsung Tab S or iPad Pro sits at the top. Here's the full breakdown.

How Much Does Tablet Screen Replacement Cost in Malaysia?

RepairPrice (MYR)
Budget Android tablet (Lenovo Tab, Huawei MatePad Lite)RM 200 – RM 400
Mid-range tablet (Samsung Tab A / Tab S FE, Xiaomi Pad)RM 300 – RM 550
Samsung Galaxy Tab S series (S8 / S9 / S10)RM 500 – RM 900
iPad / iPad 9th–10th GenRM 300 – RM 500
iPad Air (M1 / M2)RM 400 – RM 700
iPad Pro 11-inch / 12.9-inchRM 600 – RM 1,200

What Affects the Cost?

  • Screen size — a 12.9-inch panel uses far more material than an 8-inch one.
  • Laminated vs non-laminated — laminated displays fuse glass, touch, and LCD into one unit, so you replace all three even if only the glass cracked.
  • AMOLED vs LCD — Samsung Tab S and iPad Pro use premium panels that cost more than a basic LCD.
  • Brand and part availability — iPad and Samsung parts are easy to source; obscure China-brand tablets can be harder and pricier.
  • S Pen / stylus digitizer — tablets with active pen support have an extra layer that adds to the part cost.

Can You Replace Just the Glass?

On older non-laminated tablets, yes — the outer glass is a separate layer and glass-only repair is cheaper. But almost every modern tablet (iPad Air/Pro, Samsung Tab S) uses a fully laminated display, so a cracked front means the whole assembly is replaced. Some shops offer glass-only refurbishing with UV glue, but we've seen too many come back with touch dead zones, so we replace the full assembly on laminated units.

Signs You Need a Screen Replacement

  • Visible cracks or shattered glass across the display.
  • Touch not responding in parts of the screen, or ghost touches.
  • Black spots, coloured lines, or bleeding under the glass.
  • Backlight visible but no image, or flickering after a drop.
  • Cracked corner letting dust or moisture creep under the display.

Repair vs Replace — Is It Worth It?

A new mid-range tablet costs RM 1,200–2,500 and a Tab S or iPad Pro runs RM 3,000–7,000. Against that, a RM 200–1,200 screen fix is almost always worth it if the rest of the tablet is healthy. The exception is a very old budget tablet where the repair approaches half the price of a new one — we'll tell you honestly when that's the case. At Fix It Jerry in Kuala Lumpur, we quote the exact price for your model before any work starts.

Turnaround Time

1–3 hours for most tablets. Laminated iPad Pro and large Tab S panels take longer because the adhesive is thick and the digitizer alignment is fussy. We test touch across the full screen, brightness, and stylus support before handing it back.
