A shattered back glass is mostly a cosmetic problem, right up until a shard works loose, the crack spreads to the camera ring, or water finds its way in. It is also the repair with the biggest gap between doing it properly and doing it fast. Here is what it costs and what proper looks like.

Why iPhone back glass is a different job

Apple fuses the back glass directly to the frame. There is no peeling it off with heat like a Samsung. The clean method is a laser machine that burns off the adhesive grid under the glass so the fragments lift free, then a new panel is bonded on. Shops without a laser either chip it off by hand for hours or quote you a whole housing swap at double the price. Ask which method a shop uses. It is a fair question.

Samsung is simpler, but the seal matters

Samsung back covers come off with controlled heat and come back on with fresh adhesive. The catch is water resistance: your phone's IP rating lives in that adhesive seal. A sloppy reseal looks fine and leaks in the first rainstorm. We replace the full adhesive gasket every time rather than reusing what survived.

The wireless charging coil sits right there

The charging coil and sometimes the flash or antenna lines sit directly under the back glass. A deep shatter can slice into them, and clumsy glass removal definitely can. If your wireless charging stopped working after the drop, that is why. We test the coil before and after every back glass job, and replacing a damaged coil adds roughly RM 80 to RM 150.
