MacBook Screen Repair Cost in Malaysia (2026)

Cost Guide

MacBook screens are some of the priciest laptop displays to replace. Apple's Retina and Liquid Retina XDR panels look incredible, but when they crack, you feel it in your wallet. Here's the actual cost in Malaysia.

MacBook Screen Repair Cost by Model

  • MacBook Air M1 (13-inch): RM 500 – RM 800
  • MacBook Air M2 / M3 (13-inch / 15-inch): RM 600 – RM 1,000
  • MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1 / M2): RM 600 – RM 1,000
  • MacBook Pro 14-inch (M1 Pro/Max, M2 Pro/Max, M3 Pro/Max): RM 800 – RM 1,500
  • MacBook Pro 16-inch (M1 Pro/Max, M2 Pro/Max, M3 Pro/Max): RM 1,000 – RM 2,000

Why it costs so much

  • Apple bundles the screen, bezel, and hinge into one assembly. You can't just replace the panel.
  • Retina and Liquid Retina XDR panels pack an absurd number of pixels per inch.
  • Newer MacBook Pros add ProMotion (120Hz) and HDR on top of that.
  • The webcam and ambient light sensor live inside the display assembly, so they come along for the ride.
  • The notch on 14/16-inch models makes sourcing replacement panels harder.

Screen Crack vs Display Damage — What's the Difference?

  • Cracked glass only (display still works fine) — may be eligible for glass-only repair on some models, cheaper option.
  • LCD / OLED damage (lines, dead pixels, colour distortion) — full display assembly replacement needed.
  • Pressure marks (dark spots from object placed on keyboard when lid closed) — display replacement needed.
  • Backlight failure (screen very dim or black) — could be backlight IC issue, potentially cheaper fix.

Apple Store vs us

Apple wants RM 1,500-4,000+ depending on model and AppleCare status. We charge a lot less and can usually turn it around same-day or next-day. The display quality is comparable, the price is not.
